How an Engineering Program Increased Enrollment by 7%
Purdue’s Construction Engineering needed a marketing system that could help students understand the value of the program and see where it could take them. The Challenge
Purdue’s Construction Engineering and Management program needed a clearer way to communicate what made the program different, how it prepared students for meaningful careers, and why prospective students should consider construction engineering as a path.
The program also needed stronger digital visibility so more students and families could find the right information, understand the opportunity, and feel confident taking the next step.
The Creation of a Connected Marketing System
Treefrog helped connect the core pieces so the program had clearer messaging, a stronger online presence, and a more consistent way to help students understand the value of a construction engineering education.
Audience & Messaging
Clarified who the program needed to reach, what students and families needed to understand, and how the program prepared graduates for meaningful careers.
Website Strategy and Development
Built an SEO-optimized website that made the program easier to understand and gave prospective students a clearer path to explore majors, careers, and next steps.
Content and SEO
Created content that answered the questions students and families were already asking while strengthening the program’s visibility in search.
Promotion
Promoted the program’s content in a way that helped more prospective students discover the opportunity, understand the value of the degree, and take the next step.
Ongoing Marketing Support
Worked alongside the program to understand what the marketing activity was producing, identify what needed attention, and strengthen the foundation for visibility, engagement, and student recruitment.
What Success Looks Like
Construction Engineering continued to see measurable growth after the marketing strategy, website, and communication pieces were developed, including a 3% enrollment increase in the first year and a 7% enrollment increase in the second year.
The program also saw stronger digital engagement, including a 144% increase in website traffic and a 50% gain in first year engineering student engagement rate.
With a clearer message, stronger digital presence, and ongoing marketing support, the program had a stronger foundation for helping students understand the program, explore career paths, and take the next step toward enrollment.
CEM merged with Civil Engineering to become The Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering. We are working with the school on the redevelopment of the CCE brand.
“Treefrog rebuilt our entire marketing strategy and website. Because of their partnership, we've increased our first-year student meetings by over 140%.”
